TIPS FOR STARTERS 2
In the last episode, I began writing
on Sales and Marketing tips for starters, and I will pick it up from there
today, while we run through it, and we draw the curtains on it. I shared three
tips in the last episode which are; 1. Listen to your customers. 2. Advertise
on all fronts. 3. Make your customers your sales department.
Having recapitulated on that, now
unto the next one;
4. Be specific about what makes you
different from others in business; whenever you want to market yourself, you
should be able to clearly articulate and highlight what makes you different
from others, what is the new thing you are bringing to the table, what is it
that we have not seen anywhere and we cannot find anywhere except from you? Tell
us your cost and your quality, tell us in clear terms why I should come for
your own services, what do we stand to gain? Selling is all about benefit, so
you should highlight what you have to offer.
5. Go out before you are out; you
don’t have to wait until you have it all set, and your product is out before
you begin your ad and awareness campaign.
Some businesses wait and expect to
start selling their products when it is ready, but you need to start selling
before it comes out, you should make a whole lot of noise about it before it
comes out, because if you wait till you are fully ready before you begin your
awareness ads and campaigns, then it means that no one will know about you at
the start, and you will begin from ground zero before you start getting
customers. But in the event that you have rolled out the drums upfront, people
will await your arrival, because they will be expecting you and salivating
already. So once your products and services hit town, you have an expectant and
a waiting customer base.
6. Take advantage of the online buzz;
In today’s world, there are many social media apps and social media platforms
that you need to take full advantage of.
We have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,
LinkedIn, Whatsapp and so much more, you need to utilize these free online
marketing tools and marketing options, they are creative, they are efficient,
and they are effective.
